In March 2023 I got a bittersweet phone call. An artist I know and admire, who shares my love of Japanese flower arranging and of old paper, needed to give up her studio. She wanted to know if I’d like to have the papers she’d lovingly curated from her wide travels - many of them antique, all of them uniquely beautiful. The first paintings in this series was exhibited and mostly sold out in May, during Marin Open Studios at ICB ART. I’m still happily creating and will be showing new work at Winter Open Studios the first weekend in December.
